SINOPSIS
This book addresses the issue of gender equality as a crucial matter in various aspects of life, including education, law, and social spheres, particularly from an Islamic perspective. The author highlights how women have faced marginalization, subordination, and negative stereotypes for centuries, and how Islam, in its essence, emerged to elevate the status of women, granting them rights and roles equal to men, as demonstrated by the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The Qur’an itself contains various terms and perspectives on men and women, affirming that both have equal rights and obligations as servants of Allah. Emphasis is placed on the fact that biological differences are not a basis for social or domestic inequality. In the context of modern society, women often still experience discrimination in the workplace, education, and media representation, which is sometimes misleadingly justified in the name of modernization.
The author encourages the perspective that women have the freedom to choose their life roles, including being a homemaker while also being an educated and empowered individual. Education and skills are crucial as provisions for facing life’s challenges and future uncertainties. This book also emphasizes the importance of women’s empowerment through state policies and the necessity of a just and civilized approach in advocating for gender equality, especially within the framework of authentic Islamic values, undistorted by external cultures or media.
